The Top Overall World of Warcraft Guides
Every now and then I get a question in my email inbox about which World of Warcraft guides I would recommend to players if they were starting out at level 1or they wanted to start playing in PvP for the first time. Most of the time, I recommend they check out a big all in one guide like Warcraft Blueprint (which is awesome, by the way), but I got to thinking recently about what kind of guides were out there and realized that there are a lot of them.
So, instead of just recommending one single guide that can cover everything, I want to give you some options. Without further ado, here are the best guides for every category in World of Warcraft – from classes and gold making to PvP and raiding.
Best Class Guides – Warcraft Pros
Editor’s Score: 5/5 Stars!
Summary:
More than any other game I think, World of Warcraft’s classes are very different and since Blizzard implemented the new Mastery system in the 4.0 patch, the game has changed a LOT so that every player pretty much has three solid options for how to play their character.
So having a good class guide on hand to help you in understanding how your character operates, how they progress in the game and what they should be doing at any given time is very important. That’s where Warcraft Pros comes in – showing players how to build their characters from the ground up to include the best talent specs, gear, and shot rotations. It’s pretty much a full primer for every class in the game.
Conclusion:
You can buy a single class guide or all 10 of them for a sharp discount. For most players that makes a lot of sense, so start building your library while you can and get ready for a reroll.
Best Gold Guide – Warcraft Millionaire
Editor’s Score: 5/5 Stars!
Summary:
There are a lot of guides that fit the bill for best gold guide on the market. I could have easily picked Hit Gold Cap or Warcraft Blueprint for this as well, but for my money I still feel that Warcraft Millionaire is a fantastic starting point for any player trying to make a serious profit from their gold making habits.
The guide is broken down into a number of distinct segments, providing players with easy to follow walkthroughs of the game’s farming, crafting, grinding, and Auction House aspects. With hundreds of pages of gold tips, frequent updates and a guide writer with top notch pedigree, you can’t get much better than Warcraft Millionaire.
Conclusion:
Warcraft Millionaire has been around for a while and continues to prove itself a strong contender for the title of best gold guide on the market. It’s my choice for all newcomers and farmers alike. Auction House fiends may like Hit Gold Cap as well.
Best PvP Guide – PvP Bible
Editor’s Score: 5/5 Stars!
Summary:
While it might have been a little close in choosing a best gold guide, there is no contest for best PvP guide. Since 2007, the best PvP guide on the market has been the mammoth tome from T Dub Sanders. Even with a few out of date Arena strategies (we all know how fast things change), the PvP Bible is an absolute compendium of everything you need to know when preparing to jump into PvP in World of Warcraft.
The guide’s real strengths lie in the coverage of 1v1 duel strategies. This section makes it easier for any class to outduel another class with ease when they enter a battleground or arena match. Toss in the walkthroughs for every battleground in the game, detailed arena strategies and regular updates and you have a big, monstrous PvP guide worth looking into.
Conclusion:
If you want to play PvP, you need this guide. With detailed walkthroughs of almost every part of the PvP aspect of World of Warcraft, this guide is a huge bonus for all first time PvPers who want higher rankings fast.
Best Raiding Guide – PvE Bible
Editor’s Score – 5/5 Stars!
Summary:
Yup, T Dub manages to hold down both the top spot for PvP and PvE. This guy gets around. The PvE Bible is exactly what it sounds like – a raiding version of the very popular PvP bible. The guide walks players through every dungeon and raid in the game up to level 80 (with Level 85 updates coming very soon I’m sure).
The guide is flush with interesting asides, detailed walkthroughs of each boss’s abilities and careful discussion of what each character should be doing. At more than 300 pages, you don’t get much more content than the PvE Bible.
Conclusion:
The PvE Bible is a prep guide for every raid boss in the game right now. That’s a huge advantage if you’re trying to get into a guild or simply need to be ready for the content you’ll face in that guild. For that alone, it’s worth the price of admission.
Best Recurring Guide – Warcraft Formula and Warcraft Blueprint
Warcraft Formula Editor’s Score: 4.5/5
Warcraft Blueprint Editor’s Score: 5/5
Summary:
I couldn’t decide on this one, so I thought (since it’s my site) I would pick two guides that I feel are both fantastic recurring options. The first is Warcraft Formula –a monthly membership site that provides updates on recent news, hot new strategies and a ton of other interesting things for a relatively low recurring fee. Warcraft Formula is big because you’ll get a huge pile of freebies to get you started when you first sign up. If you’re interested in Warcraft Formula, know that it’s a very good place to start for newbies to the game.
On the other side of the coin is Warcraft Blueprint which blows every other guide out of the water with sheer volume. The initial product consists of four massive guides – including levelling, PvP, gold making, and class secrets – for only $27. After that initial investment, you’ll get another big guide every month for a recurring fee. Again, beginners out there will be blown away by the volume of content in this package.
Conclusion:
If you’re a newcomer to World of Warcraft, either of these guides is a great deal. Free tips, monthly updates and a colossal volume of content up front make this is a must read.
